First meeting of the Autumn Season is open to all interested people!

Wednesday, September 14th at 6:30 p.m., Kingfield Fire Station

KINGFIELD — Franklin Search & Rescue or ‘F-SAR’ is an all volunteer organization of about 25 men & women from all walks of life. We respond to assist in the search and rescue of people in need in the wilderness of Maine. Our members have some common interests: a passion for being outdoors and hiking in Maine’s backcountry, and a desire to help others in need, learn new skills and work with others as a team.

FSAR is always looking for new members who share our interests. We respond to approximately 5-8 rescue & search calls each year in western Maine and across the state. Various members also form an on-call SAR team in Baxter State Park 4 weekends a year. The group meets once a month to train in and around the Kingfield area.

Interested? Come check us out on Wednesday!

For more information about what we do, check out the team blog at http://franklinsar.blogspot.com/ or contact team president, Steve Yates 265-2638 or team secretary, Steve Mitman at smitman@tds.net
