NEW PORTLAND — It’s the New Year and a time to make positive lifestyle changes, a time for new beginnings. Have you made a New Year’s resolution regarding your faith? Maybe you have been thinking it is time to get involved with a church again, to renew your relationship with God or to find a Bible study where you feel comfortable. Or, maybe you have a desire to learn more about what attending church and reading the Bible are all about and unsure where to begin.

Whether you are just beginning your spiritual journey, or you have not been involved with a church for awhile; know that at WesternMountainsBaptistChurch, on Route 27 in New Portland, you will be welcomed. WMBC offers numerous opportunities to connect with other people who are interested in learning about the Bible, growing in their faith and being in relationship with one another. Consider attending a Sunday morning service or any of the other Bible studies offered throughout the week.

Regularly scheduled Sunday morning church services begin at 10:00a.m. Earlier in the morning, there is a 9:00a.m. adult Sunday school class and a woman’s Bible study class. There are also two Sunday school classes for children held at 9:00a.m.; one for kindergarten to third grade and another for grades four to six. Additionally, there is a teen study, grades seven to twelve.

Women studies held during the week include Monday evenings at 6:30p.m. in Kingfield, Wednesday mornings at 9:00a.m. in Kingfield and Wednesday afternoons at 4:00p.m. in FreemanTownship.

Men’s studies are held Tuesday evenings, at 6:30p.m. at the church in New Portland. Men also meet monthly for a man-sized Men’s Breakfast with lots of bacon.

On Thursday evenings, beginning at 6:00p.m, there is a potluck dinner and then an adult Bible study in FreemanTownship. Also, on Thursday evenings, at 6:30p.m., there is a Youth Group opportunity for grades 7-12, held at the WesternMountainsBaptistChurch.

If getting out to attend church or a Bible study doesn’t work for you, there is a CD Ministry available free of charge. Pastor Tom’s weekly messages are recorded and made available on the church’s website or the cds will be mailed to your home at your request.

In whatever way you decide to begin the New Year, consider visiting WesternMountainsBaptistChurch where you are welcomed at any season in your life and at any time of year.
